What is the Wind of God?
It is the manifest Presence of the Holy Spirit moving afresh upon the many-faceted ministries of the Body of Christ!
Does the Wind of God carry His Voice?
Just as seeds are dispersed by the natural wind, I believe the Wind of God carries the living Word of God. As His presence enters our atmosphere, we become recipients of divine seed—truth, revelation, and heavenly impartation.
The Wind of God also represents the power and authority of God, a sovereign force capable of initiating and sustaining His divine purposes upon the earth.
The Wind of God blows where it wills—north, south, east, and west. It recognizes no earthly boundaries and moves in perfect liberty and freedom. Such is the nature of the Spirit of Christ.
Psalm 135:7 declares, “He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
The winds that flow from His treasuries carry the mysteries of Christ, the hidden treasures of the Kingdom of God, and the keys that unlock revelation. These heavenly treasures encompass both ancient truths and fresh revelation, fulfilling the words of Jesus:
“Every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
Matthew 13:52
The Wind of God is infused with divine wisdom. It carries a revelatory dimension that releases the spirit of prophecy through the wisdom of God. Its ultimate purpose is to exalt Christ Jesus, ensuring that He remains preeminent and central within His Body. Every movement of the Spirit points back to Him, for all authority belongs to Christ alone.
The Wind of God also carries the fragrance of Christ and the atmosphere of His glory. It surrounds us with the encompassing presence of His love. Wherever His Wind blows, His nature is revealed.
This divine Wind governs spiritual atmospheres and often precedes significant movements of God.
Song of Solomon 4:16
“Awake, O north wind, and come, O south! Blow upon my garden, that its spices may flow out.”
The beloved’s cry was not merely for refreshing but for release. Though she was described as an enclosed garden, her desire was that the fragrance within her would flow beyond the boundaries of her enclosure.
The Wind of God became the catalyst for expansion.
Likewise, the Lord often sends His Wind to move us beyond familiar borders, beyond limitations, and beyond places of containment. His purpose is that Christ within us would become increasingly manifest. Through the liberty of the Spirit and the power of His Word, we are called to exceed former boundaries and enter new dimensions of Kingdom expression.
Another significant aspect of the Wind of God is its role as a winnowing wind.
The Wind of God separates grain from chaff. It carries the discernment of Christ, distinguishing between what is holy and what is unholy, what is fruitful and what is barren. This ministry of separation is not condemnation but purification.
On a personal level, the winnowing Wind of God brings freedom from bondage, deliverance from ungodliness, and the renewal of the mind. It separates us from the works of the flesh, from religious bondage, and from every influence that hinders spiritual growth.
Within this wind of separation, the voice of God can be heard as..
“To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.”
Isaiah 61:1
This is the Wind of Transformation—a divine transportation from one state into another. It is the boundary-moving Wind of God that ministers personally while simultaneously carrying a global vision for harvest. Through His winnowing power, the Lord is preparing the nations for one of the greatest ingatherings of souls in history.
Jesus said:
“That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit… The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:6–8
Those who are born of the Spirit carry within them the supernatural influence of the Wind of God. Wherever they go, they become carriers of His presence, helping establish atmospheres where the Spirit of God can move freely and manifest His purposes.
The Wind of God possesses manifold wisdom and supernatural power, all directed toward the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Because the Wind carries the atmosphere of heaven, it also carries the glory, favour, and grace of God.
When the Wind of God manifests, it leaves an unmistakable impression of His nature and character. It bears His seal of authorship and reveals the righteousness of Christ.
The Wind of God also reflects to the omnipresence of God—His ability to be fully present in every place at every moment.
Psalm 147:18
“He causes His wind to blow.”
The Hebrew word ruach means wind, breath, spirit, and mind. It speaks of the very breath of God Himself.
Job 33:4
“The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.”
The Wind of God is therefore a life-giving force.
When Ezekiel prophesied and called forth the four winds (Ezekiel 37), the result was resurrection power. Dry bones became a living army. The four winds became instruments through which the breath of God restored life and purpose.
The four winds reveal the fullness of God’s activity and ministry:
The Spirit of the Lord — Ruach Adonai
The Holy Spirit — Ruach HaKodesh
The Spirit of the Lord God — Ruach AdonaiYahweh
The Spirit of God — Ruach El
Together they reveal the fullness of the Ruach Elohim—the Wind of God Himself!
The Wind of God carries the same brooding force seen in Genesis 1, where the Spirit hovered over the waters before creation emerged from chaos. It carries resurrection power, as demonstrated in Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones.
The Wind of God is unrestricted and unstoppable. It cannot be confined by human limitations, nor can it be controlled by natural understanding. It is a life-giving force essential to understanding the Kingdom of God.
Within the Wind of God are the keys of divine revelation, resurrection power, transformative power, and Kingdom positioning. It is the Wind that establishes us in our rightful place within God’s purposes.
May we hear the Sound of His Wind!
May we welcome the Breath of His Spirit.
And may the Wind of God carry us into the fullness of His glory, His purpose, and His Kingdom.
